Yes pump ops with open cabs is a bitterly cold deal. Over at STEP we don't do cement, all our fluid pumps are full twins, with heated a/c cabs with stereo and microwave too I believe. Thank goodness the open cab thing is going by the wayside

Any ideas from the long time forum members would help with the first timer patch work.. I prefer 15/6 -
Hello All,
Well, this is the end of the road. I have to say all the advice, comments, etc have been invaluable. Thank you. However, I have just resigned and I have to move to Yellowknife to assist my son with his business. No choice. Maybe one day I can get back into the patch but as you know family first.

Only worked 15/6 and I enjoyed them; I think I would have like the extra days off of a 21/14 though. Sanjel treated me really well and understood when I left for family health reasons. I worked near and stayed in most of the main hubs for service ccompanies and really liked my home base being in GP. It's a decent size town with all of the necessities and also fair cost of living. Not a long time member but my 2c.

Personally 21 14 is too long if you stay busy the whole time. 12 hours days x 21= fatigue = accidents and excessive stress when you do get off. Even on 14/6 I generally have to work at using up all my holiday time

I work 21/7 12 hours everyday and I don't mind. But I make sure I'm getting plenty of sleep. My start times the same everyday so that prob helps.

I talked to a few guys in frac, who were doing the 21s, and a big complaint of theirs was that if there wasn't much work that they were making way less than guys on 15s. Few of them said they'd gone a few sets without any jobs at all.. this was in July/August.
