If he has all endorsements and super clean record, he might be accepted by Con-Way Truckload.

I'd goto Schneider. . Out of all the starter companies listed they seem to be the best.
P.S.?! Watkins puts newbies fresh out of driver school in a truck solo after only 12 days orientation?!
Looking back, all I wanted was my own truck and to start making money. .I went out for 30 days, did what they called the 4 corners (not with watkins) And that really wasn't enough training. . But I have to admit, I didn't really start learning until I was on my own. .
Biggest thing to learn is patience.
Good luck to you and your husband. . Because he isn't the only one entering this industry. . And your going to have to learn a little yourself

He has clean driving history. Has all endorsements.

W & S Doesn't just let anyone out in a truck after the Orientation? They test the drivers pretty closely and they have to be confident that you are going to manage to get it done or get to phone where you can find the answers to your questions! You will be fine, You have the kids and he doesn't have any with him! I know I have 4 all very young, share with him the daily schedule and the fun things that happen during his away time, But don't count the days with the kids unless he is ABSOLUTELY sure they he is going to be home that day, I did this and it caused a real issue with one of my kids when I went back out! He will do fine, just let him focus on what he has at hand and not the things going on at home! Good Luck.

I'd go with Swift. They have a good training program. plus you can run just the 11 Western states. which means you'll be home every other week. I would stay away from Gordon

No need to go with a starter/training company. Go with a good company right out of school.
Trans-system website has 3 good companies listed, so check those 3 companies. All 3 hire new CDL grads.
Watkins & Shepard is a good company and they don't waste weeks and months of time with riding with a trainer for poverty wages. Your husband doesn't need a baby sitter, he needs a job....lol -
Will have him check it out! -
My husband called trans-system they dont want him commuting 200 miles to and from work.. Weird right!? Applied to Watkins and Shepard , he will be calling tomorrow.
