I'm a little confused on exactly what you did. What did you repair?

I would concentrate on safety vs speed. Some might be quicker , some slower but safety is most important.
Obviously the more you practice the more efficient youll be.

I would not worry about speed, like ric said that comes with practice. Also different freight will require different strapping/tarping from what I seen so dont worry about how long it takes you as long as you get it done and get the load there.

Found holes in my tarps so I repaired them. This flat steel whooped my butt tonight. 53 feet equals 3 tarps and these long tarps on low loads and overhang off the back made have to think how to tarp it lol. I have a 48 that's why over hang.

good work If you buy a winder for the straps, or bend a small rebar to do job faster.

Have 2 of the ones I can run straps parallel to truck so don't have to run out in way of forklifts and etc

3 tarps AND fixed holes in them?

Must have been that Benny Hill theme music playing in the background!

Rushing around is a good way to get hurt. That's why some of these lawsuit-phobic shippers makes us dress up like trained monkeys and wear harnesses and set up railings, etc. The very spot you might be standing could have been a place where some driver lay with a busted skull before.
