I'm looking for someone re-broadcasting/dead keying internet/Satellite radio channel for hrs/days at a time on Ch19 in south west Chicago suburbs.

There was a post about 10 meter, and how the FCC could track the signal to the truck. I would like to do this, to track down a base station signal near Interstate. Its my understanding if I get his address he would receive a letter from FCC.

Other than the obvious, watch the signal meter climb to max, that still leaves 8+ blocks of houses, and I believe its in newer neighborhood which would ban a big ugly antenna, making it even harder to spot. Any suggestions before I start knocking on doors?

Nearest local is I-80/Wolf Rd, Frankfort IL area, and think I can narrow that down to a 1-0.5 mile diameter next time out.

Lol, I think I found him on Google Earth. It was the 4th house I looked at. He is surrounded by trucking companies which might be his motive.

2 story white house. Stand a little right of center of his house because of the trees and look on his roof.

Removed address. Just look close on Wolf Rd where you think and you'll find it.

Wow unless he owns that place behind him that would be a HORRIBLE place to have to live whoever owns the house. I do see an antenna there though. atleast a 80% chance that's what it is... LOL

Nothing cutting his coax won't fix.

There use to be one I forget now but I'm thinking eastern OH off I-70. He use to preach and override everyone for 20 miles. I just dreamed of finding his house, lol.

I read all kinds of dirty tricks from sticking little pins in the coax to short the center core with the outer shield. One guy said take an extension cord, cut it and put alligator clips on it. Then cut the guys cable and hook to it. Then plug it in. Next time he keys the mic.........

That's dirty but a funny thought.

That one I seen above was mounted to his roof on a tripod. If his base was upstairs I doubt you could get to him. All you can do is report him.

I've run into maybe a half dozen of them over the years. Most of them are handicapped with nothing better to do. I think I could find something better to do than be a PITA.

There used to be a guy in Ankeny, IA that would sit and badmouth the truckers all afternoon, and everybody knew it, one day I figured out he was a lumper over at the Super Value warehouse on the west side of Des Moines, when I let it out that it was him, he didn't get hired by anyone anymore.

I've never seen an antenna like it, but makes perfect sense... His signal from highway (rf gain @ min) comes on strong within .5 miles, and slowly fades over 1.5 miles, which is exactly how that one is aimed. And pointed at the subdivision I targeted.
    Your brilliant CondoCruiser!!!

How do I prove this, to myself and FCC?
Pissed me off even more to hear him set it up again last night @10:30pm, could hear him move #### around to hold mic in place, and still playing this morning.

I'm sure there all kinds of stuff on the internet. Look up fox hound antennas. It'll point towards the source and then maybe triangulate it from a second location.

Record it! Or 1 little stick pin thru the center of the coax will stop it.
