what if all loads paid the same per mile rate? look how much money this could save. you would always get the load that is closes to you dead heading would be a thing of the pass. this may only work if there was only one company. (the federal government) they could build terminals every 250 miles in every direction so drivers would only have to drive 500 mi a day. there would be more local drives. DOT could inspect the trucks every day at the terminals for safety. they could make sure we eat healthy with government restaurant at the terminals..all driver would be paid .55 per mile. 25years and full retirement.

If I were your employer I would schedule a drug screen for you.

A load in an enclosed car trailer with 5 Lamborghini Aventadors cannot pay the same rate as a load of scrap metal. Nor would a load of 45 head of cattle pay the same as a load of toiler paper for Dollar General. Yeah sure, everyone gets the same rate RGNs, stepdecks, lowboys, tri axles, everything, everybody gets the same, right? Regardless of weight, permits, tolls, number of stops, trailer requirements, appointments, loading/unloading instructions....

Why are you asking for more government in your life anyway? In your hypothetical you're saying, "to bad forget you" to anyone wanting to work harder and become more then just a company driver by ridding people the opportunity to own a business and make more than an allotted standard pay. why so anti-free market?

Surely you do not really want that. Goes against everything I believe in. Sounds as bad as 'OBAMACARE".

'OBAMACARE" Now thats a mess..why you ask because its government and private insurance company. never gonna work. now if they would just let each state run their own health care. and add the cost to the sales tax we all would be covered and we all get the same care..
