Best way to do singlehandedly is if you think it's him, drive up within a block of his house, disconnect your coax, when you're real close, your meter will still be pegged even though no antenna is hooked up. Then maybe use a field strength meter to confirm; it'll go nuts right next to the guy's antenna.

Or....if you know of any hams, they can do what is known as a "fox hunt" where they will triangulate in on the signal. They're trained for it and usually pretty good at it too.

The station you're talking about. We contacted the station that they are rebroadcasting one night. Got told they are aware of it and there is nothing they can do. You would think that they would of contacted the FCC themselves.

Some clubs do these fox hunts on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, bi-monthly, etc) just for the purpose of education and training. It can be useful for both emergency and for,....well, harmless fun. It is often a social event with prizes for the hunter that finds the "fox". And if there ever IS a bootlegger on the frequencies, the hunters are proficient in finding the perp. It is just part of the fun of ham radio + the education in RF techniques!:yes2557:

How does he not screw his radio up if he is keeping it keyed up for so long??? I always thought you couldn't key down non-stop like that because it would overheat or something...

A pin in the coax and the next time they get on the air they fry their radio. Problem solved for now anyway.

I wish someone would find this guy. I've heard it, it's some political show he broadcasts all day.
