Our farm has a couple 2000 vnl's with D12. This one truck had a new compressor due to blown head gasket about 3 years ago maybe 10,000 miles. Looked today and head gasket hanging out back of compressor leaking air. It's a Volvo only compressor and they wanted a lot for compressor and only way to get a head gasket is with a head kit. About $600. Any one found a place to get just a gasket and ideas why were are having this much trouble?

I have found gasket kits but only in Europe. Took the head off and looks fine but corner of gasket broke off. Makes me want to gets Cummins the next time

really gaskets are very cheap in Europe, some dollars only
I used Major Sell and other... may be not so good quality but runs well
D12C-D were equipped with Knorr Bremse and Wabco compressors. Gaskets are cheap for all. But Wabco cylinder head is difficult to fix. Knorr is easy to rebuild, many parts are the same like in Bendix tuo flow -
Its a knorr. Head looks fine. Has maybe 10,000 miles. I found that companies website. Thank you

really gasket life depends on head and diafragm surface. So we use to resurface head and diafragm plate
