My company offered to pay for mine. It was $129. They do offer a discount if you already have hazmat but I opted to pay full price because taking the discount would have put the TWIC expiration date on the same date as my hazmat. Since my company is going to pay for it I paid full price for 5 years.

Last company I was with we all had to have TWIC and Sealink cards because we were in and out of the ports in Newark alot, NYCT, PNCT, etc. Before that I only needed it one time picking up a lot of baled cotton at a little port in Albany. I know alot of flatbed companies like you to have it. The company I was driving for when I got mine paid for it. Then the company I was with when I was doing the port work paid for the Sealink (which was only like 15 bucks, iirc.)

A buddy of mine let his expire, and had to escorted into a port. The TWIC escort charged $125! Apparently, if you ever do need it, it will pay for itself in one use.
