I'm sorry, you all know I'm not a fan of swift or the takeover, but this addendum is really a non-issue. Everyone's making a mountain out of a mole hill. Unless you're a trainer the only real negative is the bonuses, which we all knew about already. There are real things to be upset about, so save your indignation for the real issues.

Like the fact that you can wash your truck at every terminal except Fontana!! All the washouts you want which they have to pay you for but forget about rinsing off your truck... Pure ignant!!

 

Ask about the 'fuel discount'... Swift doesn't give one... Will we get to keep one (grandfathered), if not for us that will be a hit of around $800-$900/month... That to me is an issue... But no real choice since we want to purchase our truck.

 

We're keeping our fuel discount as well as the fsc. They are adding a west coast fsc bump as well, but they haven't given details on it.

 

Man. Fuel taxes. Fsc. Fuel discounts. My brain hurts a little.

 

Don't worry; it all boils down to 42.

 

Got my W2 and 1099 in the mail today from Central. Now I'm just waiting on my current employer and good ol' Walmart (they LOVE to take their time) and I can start my taxes. Yip, Yip, Yippee!

In other news... Sunday night I totally busted my ### on a flight of stairs. Totally butt surfed down them all. Not recommended. Been out from work because I can barely sit down, much less sit in the captain's chair to do my job. Picked me up a donut today, and hopefully that'll get me down the road tomorrow.

Moral of the story? Don't bust your ### down a flight of stairs. It'll hurt in the morning!

So this addendum biznass ain't too awful. (Don't throw rocks!!) We won't get a raise... Ok. I only kind of care because I know I'll get better and better, and I'd like to increase my profit exponentially rather than linearly. That being said the mentor bonus is based more on retention than upgrading. I kind of agree with it because if you're not serious about training new drivers get out of the way so I can get raises!! $250-600 a month possible if your students stay with the company. That isn't too shabby!

 

I sure hope so!
