the big "S" will be reopening soon - I-70 mm 186 in ohio...

the towing company bought it - and is leasing out the store and restaurant and hotel to different owners.

man that place used to be pretty decent - closed down 6 years ago I believe.

Join you? And have to drive one of those slow 15 year old trucks without a sleeper?

I am waiting to get approved for a lease purchase with John Christner Trucking. They tell me I can make as much as I want with them as long as I'm willing to work.

the irony being john christner used his teamster pension and roadway paychecks to get his company off the ground...

he put in 28 or 29 years at roadway befor retiring.

    ANYWAY...

the big S will be a welcome back edition to I-70 - other than the gomart there is not much between kirkersville and dallas pike.

That is it right there. He saw how bad a union company was, and when he started his own he kept those bums out. I'm not going to pay some union fatcat money every month so I can work. This is America, if you work hard you get the rewards.

I presently work for the local newspaper in the area of the Shenandoah Inn truck stop and posted a thread a month ago or so about it reopening. (I am off to school in about two weeks to start training to get my CDL and a better payday.)

They hit a snag a couple weeks ago when someone entered the building and turned on water valves, flooding a good portion of the inside. No reason why was ever given nor were any suspects named.

I just know that it will be nice to see the place alive again rather than being empty.
