Here is an estimate for a platinum overhaul from Carolina Cat. This estimate does include both turbos. Im trying to get my ducks in a row, because my truck is drinking oil. It has 680k on it now, beside adding coolant its been running fine. Like i told the guy over at Cat, im just thinking ahead. He did tell me they are financing 0% for 24 months and 2.9 for 36 months. Its very tempting to go ahead and have it done.

Is the labor included? It looks like a price for parts. I see labor but $0.00. .????????

Yes the labor is included. The only thing that is not included is the taxes. All packages have the labor included in packages.

    Hnnn...

As opposed to a Reman engine? (Swap your rebuildable core for a fresh turnkey motor)

Or Go for the Gusto......BRAND NEW CAT C-15

Inframes are Nice........But is the Camshaft and Crankshafts examined thoroughly when bearings are replaced........do they replace the Vibration Damper?

Ricky , this may be a good time to install a good bypass oil filter? Cat has , or had one that filtered down to 3 microns . Cleaner you can keep your oil the longer she will live . Was not a bad price(at the time) .

Don't sound to high but I would get another EST from a pete or kw dealer usually cheaper then going with cat dealer

Wouldn't waste my time with a truck dealer, let CAT do it. Platinum overhaul is pretty much the same price anywhere you go only variance will be sales tax if applicable. Single turbo motors are 3 or 4 hours less labor than acerts in the quote. They inspect everything, if your cam is borderline or shot they will bring it to your attention. Price does not include a new damper or front seal, if you want those done be sure to tell them and see how much extra. I spent another $8k above the platinum replacing a lot of other things. A crate motor will cost you about $35k I priced that too just to see, of course by the time I would have been done with that almost $45k with other upgrades - just not worth it. Truthfully my inframe was worth more than my truck but I knew what i had, and now what i have, it was definitely worth it.

Looking at it, it doesn't say anything about the Cam Shaft or the Crank Shaft! The Financing deal looks good too, even if you have to stretch it out to 36 months! That is a pretty good deal.
