Had a couple of drivers fired at my company for reporting problems with their trucks so they could be routed to the yard after 3-4 days. Usually around the time of a Dallas Cryboys football game.
What rookie mistake will get you fired on the spot?

That would be a problem for me since I don't like football but LOVE baseball... 162 problem reports from March to October would look quite suspicious.

Actually hitting send on that carefully articulated message on the qualcomm you want to send to your FM stating what you think of the way they treat you and and their business practices instead deleting it like you meant to.

Constantly Tearing off the sWing doors in an inside Dock...
Boss "Your Fired"
Driver "Im so sick and tired of these inside Docks..Gimme another chance"
Boss "Ok"
Driver "Yay....Where am I going Boss?"
Boss " Back to Super foods in Bedford Heights"
Driver " But thats an inside dock with No room for pulling up"
Boss "Your Fired" -
Basically, careless or imprudent things.ie. (dropping a trailer) literally, putting gasoline in adiesel truck, constantly bringing back freight, argueing in a bad way with the boss, refusing to work, delicerately falsifying your app, changing the date on your medical card, skipping pre-trip(just checking the boxes, late to work and always late on deliveries, showing up to work hung over and smelling like beer, keeping a nasty truck, loading somebody elses freight on your truck a lot, stealing any freight(even selling your empty pallets instead of returning them to your company, over 15 mph tickets, damaging something anywhere and taking off because you think nobody seen you (later the customer shows a video tape to the boss)refusing or failing an alchohol or drug test.Dragging a trailer with locked up brakes(putting flat spots on the tires)These are reasons drivers were fired at my old job.Usually something like minor damage to the truck,in the yard,or tearing off mudflaps on your tractor ,because you forgot to slide your fifth wheel all the way back was forgiven(as long as you paid out of pocket)
