You should be able to get 42k on there without permits, its going to be close though.

 

the truck in the well was a double frame factory 3 axle. empty weight with trailer was a whopping 45k!
new truck is single frame 3 ft shorter wheel base and the trailer with no flip, so as you say also it will be close....he just got home and moved gear over, so we will see a scale ticket hopefully this week.

the biggest problem but also the best thing about the trailer is the well..34' well non-stretch. so we get alot of stretch paying loads. But all that steel makes it heavier set up.

 

I did not realize that the well was that long, so the trailer is a 53' then.

My last truck, W900, 18spd, 270 WB with a 48' DD RGN was 37,000 full of fuel.

ok 281ric...it aint no big load but the first with the new rig..





and the empty weight is in...38,500 with little over half tank. was hoping for 38k even.

This company had 14 of these 740's going out at the same time, We have 3 lowboys so I grabbed this shot when we got to the job site. It looked crazy going down the highway.
