I have seen 60 psi on accert with 550hh program and good fls and fts settings. But the valves have to be in good adjustment and the ivas and ijectors. Some of our trucks in my fleet get 6.5 if driven correctly. with cat mxs.

I'm not asking for a lot I don't think 5 to 5.5 should be doable I would think we are going to go over everything again but turbos was fine 20,000 miles ago. Overhead should be fine still we checked everything. Going to check for boost leaks but I do t expect to find anything there and I don't know where else to check I just feel like it's maybe got something that was over looked in the ECM.

Is the in line fuel pump bad? Will act normal with poor mpg until in a steep pull and will fall on its face.

When you say the fan run when the fuel temp wire is removed, do you mean constantly or just more often?

A loss of signal from the fuel temp sensor (bad sensor, unplugged, defective fuel temp wire) will cause a constant fan-on issue, IIRC.

High intake temp will cause the fan to run. Do you have a Pyrometer? No codes?

High IAT will cause higher EGT. If the ecm detects a possible high EGT (EGT is calculated, not measured) I believe it will derate. I don't know for sure if this would be a silent derate or would present a code or CEL to illuminate. Need confirmation there.

On an ACERT, a bad coolant diverter, dirty CAC, or stuck wastegate could cause problems. A faulty sensor could create a false reading and resulting derate.

If I'm not too tired, that should be decent info. Time for bed...

No lol I thought I explained it better than I did. When I say staying on it's not constantly.

fuel temp wire on= fan doesn't come on, truck pulls doesn't struggle and fan never comes on.

No fuel temp wire= truck struggles to get out of its on way won't pull boogers and fan is coming on and off even pulling a empty cattle trailer.

Lack of power for the truck to be able to its job like it should is causing the water temp to rise making the fan come on. I've never been around a truck that the fuel temp wire mod made this big of a difference it's like daylight and dark. The fan coming on isn't an issue of the radiator being stopped up or anything like that. It acts like an old big block Chevy with the timing off it won't move out of its way wants to run hot etc. set the timing and it's like a new motor doesn't run hot and runs a heck of a lot better. I hope this explains it a little better. Fuel mileage never improves either way though. It never gets any worse and never gets any better. Usually a truck that pulls well you can back off of it and it will get mileage but that's not the case with this thing. Cat has set all the stupid stuff on it driver rewards etc. I know that crap don't work but I let them start there to see if they could figure something out. Have a guy coming in the morning to try and dig a little deeper maybe he will find something. I just figured somebody had already ran into this problem before?

my 2 cents to get back to the original post, he's getting poor mileage and he's running 70-73mph at 1400-1500 rpm.... Acerts will never get mpg's at that speed or RPM... SLOW DOWN AND KEEP IT BETWEEN 1200 AND 1350 RPM!!!!!!

With fuel temp wire on my 6ts it didn't make that much difference, some, but not from struggling to not struggling, may be something wrong in factory sensor. Have 550 NXS now pulling 85 to 90000 it only gets 4.5, about what everyone else does doing the same thing. speed limit is 55 and 65 so not running to fast

So you think slowing down 5mph will pick up 2.5mpg? Keep in mind this thing gets 4mph loaded or empty. I'm thinkin we might have found part of the problem though. Truck will make over 60pds of boost pulling an empty trailer so I got another boost gonna throw it on tomorrow and try it. Any of you guys ever had this happen? Sensor read off and possibly it's adding fuel for the extra boost and it's not really there causing poor fuel mileage?

Not saying he will gain 2.5 mpg but I guarantee running 70-73 he will never see good mpg
