they ran me good but no home time if i lived in winter haven may have been a different story. did care for the 1000 mile dead heads at .25 per mile ether. or waiting in L.A. 2 days to unload. or trying to put a 900 mile run on you at 1700 for delv next morning 0430 after running all day and getting p.o. at you when you refused it.

so the deadhead is at a lower rate than the loaded miles?
-
it was in 2005
-
With all the deadheading they do that wouldn't work out very well for the paycheck... I would love to get into a simpler form of trucking from flatbedding but if that's the rate of deadhead and with all the sitting it seems like the average paycheck would be around 3-400 a week. I would be on the west coast regional but idk im scared to make that jump

i made good money with them had to adjust the books and that harder to do they days then it was in 2005

Deadhead pays the same as loaded
-
I worked there last year dead head was 35cpm same as loaded I made good money but no home time and I live in winter haven so went running local but at least when I left they said come back if I ever wanted two
Rugerfan Thanks this. -
Roger i worked for Indian River for a couple years.....i LOVE the company, but I left at the beginning of 2012 to drive in the country music side of the transportation business......The biggest caution I have for you is that I think Indian river's west coast regional is the worst loads in their system....you will pick up a lot of juice in Washington and oregon...and truck it back to LA.....Rough job especially in the winter....and seems like the guys who did just that suffered with pay.
But again I want to say IRT was one of my favorite trucking jobs.......If I looked at my books back then it would show an average of 730.00 dollars per week take home....that is a true average.....Some weeks 1100. Some weeks 400.
good luck with your search.Rugerfan Thanks this. -
