Cook a nice meal, watch a movie & sleep while I can. If I can't sleep, I watch the guys roll on knowing I will get good pics the next day from my dash cam.

I was on I-94 the other day and it was closed at exit 12 in MI.
I had stopped at the rest stop at mile 40 to wait it out. Several accidents in the way, and beyond.
Checked the atlas and decided to reroute down to I-80 via US 31, which I did once the accident at that exit was cleared.
I got down to I-80 and everything was fine... for about 10 miles. Then everything turned white and traffic came to a halt.

As I was less than a mile away from a service area I gave up for the rest of the day and night.

Lucky thing, too, both with the rerouting and the shut down for the night.
Both roads had multi-truck/car pileups that I might have been involved in.

I mostly feel lucky I am not the one causing the backup. All you can do is to be prepared and avoid the potential bad weather . I also use here.com to check on the traffic. Where I am at if I idle on the shoulder its usually my fault of not predicting it

    1. weather= STOP & wait it out til roads are opened.

    2. accident=wait it out , unless really familiar with the alternate routes available to me ..(read do not trust that GPS)

cow in the road=run over the cow and invite all my TTR pals to the B-B-Q ! :occasion9::occasion9:

    Do not commit suicide!!! lol
    Well, basically don't drive then...
It happened to me yesterday on I-80 Pensilvania, Exit 97... But luckily they closed East bound, and as soon as I got my load at that exit, they opened West bound only... But it was ugly...

    Stay warm and be safe!
