there are a couple truck stops in merced, a couple hotels there that have truck parking as well. As for street parking you must check the city code and stuff, I know I can park near my house but the main street I park at is labeled a "truck route"

We have a yard in Merced. There are no truck stops that I know of. The truck stop posted above is only good if you're going north. If you're going south and pull into that truck stop you'll have to go north for about 10 miles just to turn around and head south. And it's not in Merced. It's actually just north of chowchilla. Near the scale! They're reworking highway 99 which should fix the problem southbound truckers have with that truck stop.

I have spent more than a night there, at least it's quiet and no one ever bothered me the times I stayed.

I would like to know this as well. I'm parked behind Lowe's now. My plan was to park at Walmart but security told me that the manager has an issue with it. It's amazing, every Walmart in the country has let me park in their lot but I go home and I can't find a place to park? wtf?

there are a lot of walmarts out there who wont allow it and its because truckers have ruined it, there are also some cities where its a city ordinance and not walmart themselves. One walmart near Sacramento area its a city thing but the one right in Sacramento allows it. I have been kicked from a couple walmarts myself one being in San Barnardino.
I dont even park at Walmarts anymore unless im bobtailed but I pull Target trailers and they frown on that...so I usually sleep behind a Target if I run out of hoursNear Mellow Thanks this. -
