Which is the better buy for your dollar?

If there is a product better than add that to the mix as well. Let's hear your opinions please!

It's Your truck. Go with the thing you want. I run a Magnum myself. Gal is nice. Cobra 29 is far inferior. Galaxy is a frame to make a great radio. JMO

Cobra 19, Cobra 25, Cobra 29, Cobra LX, Uniden 880, 980, Galaxy, Connex, Ranger, Magnum, General HP. All good radios. Your LTD will get you going fine. I see you're new to trucking. Go with the free radio until you get a few miles under your belt. The time to start a budget is NOW unless you are an heir. You can always get a big radio next year. I think Ranger actually makes Connex and General Lee radios.

a galaxy 959 is not a good radio.a galaxy 99 is a good radio.try the galxy 939.hopefully it is better than the 959.I have a 959 in addition to the 99.It,the 959, is NOT the typical galaxy.get a galaxy 33 to start with.

the free radio is the best radio however.ranger radios take LOTS of time to learn.go to a radio shop and compare the ranger to any other. It is a technical radio man. go with the free one.

listen at truckstops for deals on radios and buy one that way.amke sure the seller is talking on it as he is trying to sell it.other drivers will give their opinion on t/s radios for sale.just listen to the cb radio you now run and graduate from that point over time.

Last month (December), I needed to spend some points from my Loves card or lose them so, I bought a Cobra 29LTD Classic. I was highly disappointed. I put it in the truck Jan 1, & took it out just last night (Jan 26).

I had been using my 15 year old Galaxy 33, but I need to have a little work done on it so I decided to put the Cobra in for a while & put a 100 watt amp behind it until I could get my Galaxy in the shop & back (never put the amp behind it tho). From the minute I put the Cobra in, I knew I had made a mistake. But I decided I would give it an honest chance. I never even put the Galaxy in the shop. Just put it back in the truck last night.

JMHO, The best radio I have ever had was a Galaxy 44.

Great posts. I think a C.B. is the most valuable tool a Driver has. I have no problem making sure I get help if I need it. It gets out.
