I am starting up my business soon. I will be doing fuel tax service for owner operators and small business. Such as keeping up with quarterly miles and fuel gallons to provide full report for tax filing. Will also do online filing if needed. Renewals, permits, and so on. My question is would there be anyone o/ops or small company's be interested in this kind of service and if so what is a reasonable charge for these services? I would supply all mailing supplies and DTRs. Please no rude comments. Im very serious about this and any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

When I applied for my authority I paid some one to "handle it" that deals with it for a living much like you are suggesting. They offer the Ifta and quarterly tax deal too. I'm not sure what they charge because they insure the trucks too and its all one check. I can look when I get to the house in a day or two if you don't have a good feel for it by then. Seems like on the authority which is 48 states they charged 600 plus the fees to uncle sam if I remember right.

Yes I will have insurance for mess ups. There shouldnt be any as long as all fuel is turned in to go against the miles. If fuel is left off that will make you amount due very high. Thank you for yalls feed back. Any info is appreciated. I love the job and want to do everything I can to make it easier for owner ops.

I have been reading post. There are a lot of area's I can help owner ops. Advice in DoT compliance, Dealing with customers and broker's can be a nightmare in getn paid. Especially when its a layover, TONU, and other accessorials. That would be a service I could do as well.
