Go with tankers! Don't waste that CDL school for poverty wages. Any job that pays less than $50K is not worth it for what you paid for a private CDL school.
Superior Carriers
SVTN
Schneider Bulk
CTL Transportation
all hire new CDL grads.
Highest paying company for regional/otr for RECENT GRADS???

I have only found one negative thread on Melton; the rest have all been positive. All of the drivers I have spoke to have spoken highly of Melton, likewise to you of Superior Carriers.
-
Just emailed them. I might still call tomorrow...
-
Just go to the Melton forum and read some of the threads. I read some things that turned me off about them but that is just my personal opinion. You can form your own after reading. I just did not like what I read.
I understand about the manual versus auto transmissions but I don't think an automatic would be all that bad pulling freight that does not move. I don't think it would do all that well pulling tankers but I could be wrong.HauntedSchizo19 Thanks this. -
My biggest concern with Melton is the miles. Sounds like they do more sitting than driving. I could be wrong. Just make sure you check them out thoroughly.
-
I knew you would find this thread. Your like a bloodhound!Chinatown Thanks this.

Yes, yes, yes! I forgot about that part! Thanks for the reminder, ducky! I believe that they start you off with good mileage, and then it goes down. I forgot about that. They do pay pretty good, but the pay is worthless unless you get miles. I wish that I met the requirements for Superior, but one day. I will look into Maverick, but it's just that stinkin' automatic transmission BS that's got me held up. My first company I want to be manual, so I can start to become better with it. I feel that the automatic would ruin me. I still have time to decide, but Melton, Maverick, System Transport, and Schneider Bulk are all up there.
I've heard iffy things about Schneider Bulk's equipment. To me, that's almost as bad as not getting many miles.
I will do my research and digging on all of them! -

If I could not find a company to drive for that met those needs then I would not be driving a truck.HauntedSchizo19 said: ↑False. Look into Superior Carriers: .47 CPM loaded, .40 CPM unloaded, plus other fees. Go follow rubberducky68's post regarding starting with Superior Carriers. He made close to $60k his first year out. You have to be within their hiring area and terminals, however. If you want to make money, you gotta ask people, and put in the time with research. MoneyMike has got the right incentive.[/QUOTE
I'm completely aware those positions are available for newbs", but why go to school spend the money and then sit around waiting for the golden ticket. most of us are getting into driving because we want to make more money. Plus its all predicated on where you live. In his case he lives in dog eat dog area. lots of competition for work. He might not find that perfect job he's looking for. If your new like me just don't be greedy from the start. yeah he has the right incentive but that doesnt pay the bills.Click to expand...
As long as people keep settling for the bs pay that most of these companies pay, it will never go up up and the revolving door will continue to spin.Click to expand...HauntedSchizo19 Thanks this.
