Yep ....you catch on fast. I love little odd bits of information that I track down. I graduated at 16, lacked one semester of having a degree in accounting and moved on to something else ....and then something else.....and then even more. My first husband was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and the only time he ever complained about what I spent was on books and classes.....mostly because of the time I spent on them. I remember party lines and a time before google....... I'm not that far behind you in age, I think I am about the same age as Patty. I'm not older than dirt ....yet.....maybe just a little dusty!
I remember S and H Green Stamps too!

Looks like the bull's eye for snow totals was right around Norfolk and the Virginia Beach area with 10". See map upper right for some impressive snow totals all the way to Florida! Now we gear up for the next couple storms with the biggie to watch the 5th-6th of February. Early guesstimates posted in the maps below but we'll update the totals in the days ahead. For now just know there is the potential for a big snow/ice storm from the Southern Midwest to the Coastal Northeast middle next week.

I love going to Dodge City they are always ready for me. I think I may have waited once between all three companies I have worked for. Getting my 4th victim, I mean student, tomorrow. Darren wants me to push the lease but I tell them the truth that it is better to learn this industry as company then if they feel comfortable to lease but wait at least three months so they can at least train and decent miles.

Are you still planning on turning in your notice after this student, jaso? Have you heard from EMCHIEF? If so, how is he liking his new job and how is he feeling?

Yeah, as others have said, the automatic can handle normal roadway conditions including steep up and down grades. You will learn how to use the accelerator to smooth things out. The autos only seem to act up a on low speed grades (parking lots), jerks around but again, you will learn to adjust (you can manual shift in this spot).
As far as stopping at lights, I wrote this in the past:
You only need to try the "Stomp on it" method once or twice and you will quickly get a feel on how much fuel to quickly give to move forward smoothly.
Congrats on joining with TransAm and good luck! -
Guess where George has been all week for orientation...Atlanta!
HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
Must be a serious company to get on with. They even bring in snow just for orientation.

My T700 had hill assist breaks. If I was on a hill tge breaks wouls stay engaged after I took my foot off tge brake. They would hold till you hit the accelerator or after about 5 sec. Also the autoshits have a LOW mode for going diwn hills. When going down a long steep grade like Mountegale I put it in LOW mode. In that mode the autoahift will keep the truck in the lowest gear possible for the speed your at. Workes great for me with the jakes on. I would just keep switching the jakes to control speed. If I needed a little more drag I turn on the engine fan. That added a luttle mire drag at high rpms.passport220 Thanks this.
