Should probably share a bit about myself

I have zero professional driving experience…spent 12 years in the USAF, have had a few other jobs as well, from cutting concrete to overseas contract work

I'm about as green as they get, but eager to learn…I'll try and keep the greasy side on the road (yeah I probably screwed up the terminology) :)

Get all the endorsements while in school for more job opportunities; tanker/hazmat, TWIC.

    Aralakh Thanks this.

    Appreciate the advice, Chinatown

I was informed by the school that I will complete tanker and hazmat endorsements during the course, but did not hear anything in regard to TWIC. I will have to ask about that.

    Thanks again

    Google for nearest TWIC office.

TWIC is for chemical tankers to enter seaports, chemical plants and some military installations.

    Aralakh Thanks this.

TWIC is used for any freight coming in and out of the ports. Since your interested in TMC, the most important is Hazmat. Passport is also extremely valuable if you dont mind going to canada. TMC has some high paying freight going up there. I never used my twic at tmc, but they didn't relize i had it untill my last month there lol. By having all 3 you have access tot he highest paying freight and have the best job security. Tanker, passenger, doubles etc. wont be needed for tmc, but they are generally like 5 bucks a piece...so I got um all just for added job flexibility. I pulled doubles a few times. I drove a 18 passenger van once for a non profit (volunteered) which required passenger. Doesn't hurt to have um. Not to mention, you look cooler if you have all the letters on your license lol.
