paid wrong company

    a few months ago we paid a carrier for a load called United Freight Transport LLC and they did not haul the load it was suposed to go to United Freight LLC both companies are in our system not only did we pay the wrong company but we made the check out to them as well and sent to there address so its not a fraud issue. now can we still get them to pay us pack legally we still have to pay the other company as well are we out of the $2000 or is there a way we can force them to pay it back

    If they are an ethical company they should be able to admit they got paid for something they didn't do and give the money back. I know we would have called any company that paid us for something we didn't do.

    They never questioned why they got a check?? Woo Hoo free money.
    Call them and explain and hopefully they will send you the money back.
    Who wrote the check and did you have a nice chat over that 2000.00 mistake?

    Being that its been a few months I would worry about getting the proper company paid and then getting your money back from the wrong one.

    If it's a regular business associate I would think they would return the funds once they verified the mistake, I can't see anyone burning a valued business associate for a measly two grand....

    Hell I had one send me a check for a little over a million. We hauled the cattle but they cut us a check for the cattle instead of the freight. If they don't send it back load them one last time put a couple thousand on them and pull their plug.
