Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Another thing to look into is working at the rail yard or even road construction companies that build the haul roads...especially if you have any experience operating heavy equipment. As for me, I have basically given up looking online for jobs, and will be waiting until I physically move into the area to find work. There are so many jobs that don't even get posted on the internet...although the whole Sunoco $3000 relocation bonus would be nice.

I'm looking at Sunoco because I was thinking I could do preliminary stuff at the Marcus Hook Pa location then report to my duty station for training.
I'm also looking at some of the companies operating in western PA/OH, near enough to the house, to get experience and then either transfer or use that to get my foot in the door. -
My drivers make between $60K and $80K a year, depending on how much they want to work, but all are within DOT limits (Driving 12/Working 15) and 70 hours a week on a rotating 6/2 schedule.

your math does not add up... 15 * 6 is 90 hours in six days, not legal.... Even 12 * 6 is 72 hours, not legal...
-
It is legal as long as you don't drive in violation of the 10/11/14/70hr rules. Legally you can be on duty not driving forever but can't legally drive until after 10hrs off duty/sleeper.
-
Or drive after you cross the 70 hours of TOTAL work time.... at 15 hours of work a day, the 70 hours is used up after 4 days, and on the 5th day you only have 10 hours... Not the 6 and 2 you claimed that are legal... so no driving on day 6.... what you have them work around the yard for 15 hours on the 6th day?
-
That's if you drive a whole 12 hours the whole time on those days...gotta factor in loading and unloading...etc..and thats also if they work the whole 15 hours that day....maybe they worked 10 one day, 13 the next...etc...TxBossMan Thanks this.

You're not going to work the max amount of hours possible every single day. In the event that a drivers runs out of their legal DOT hours then they take time off to reset their hours or start their days off.
I care more about my drivers and their families then I do about working each driver to exhaustion - day after day after day.
If your only care, concern, and investment is your company; then profit and growth will be limited. But if you care for and invest in the PEOPLE that make your company possible; your growth and profit will come exponentially.flightwatch, 91B20H8, Wymon and 5 others Thank this. -
TXBossMan makes sense. We all want to make great money but when you get tired and start making mistakes, you lose accounts and sometimes lives. We have had several roll overs in our area recently probably due to drivers running too hard. Plus, my knee can always use a little break now and then.
TxBossMan Thanks this.
