That's too bad. It would be fun trucking in Mexico. I wish more US companies did it.

Mexicans already speak better English in Mexico than they do here. English is mandatory at schools there. The only ones keeping it Spanish only are activists on this side of the border for their own selfish reasons.

Mexicans already have access to free health care. It's called IMSS (Instituto Mexicano Seguridad Social). That's why they keep their Mexican citizenship so they can go home and get free doctors visits.

Auto accidents are considered a crime under Mexican law. Whoever is at fault has to pay. So financial responsibility has to be established before you can be released from being detained. That's why it's important to have valid Mexican insurance. That's if the police are even called. Often you can make it go away by giving the other party whatever cash you have on hand.

Every time I have been down to the borders we always drop and the mexican drivers hook to trailer and carry across the border and vice versa bring loaded ones to drop yards for us to deliver in US.

Ah no, not a chance as far as I'm concerned. That's the absurdity of NAFTA. no American trucker in his right mind would drive over the border, unless it was into Canada.

Do any Americans drive their cars into Mexico? I imagine if you lived in a border town like Nogales you could cross over once a week for cheap grocery shopping.

Well of course they do, but it's a bit different driving your car over, to driving a tractor trailer. I've known guys drive a few miles into Mexico to hunt for souvenirs etc, but start driving deep into the country and you may get a different situation. Personally I wouldn't drive my rig into Mexico. Too dangerous and I would think you wouldn't be covered by your insurance.
Let the Mexicans do it. They know the terrain and the risks.

I used to. Not anymore since Juarez went to hell. I liked to get that asadero cheese for quesadillas that you can't find on our side. Plus if you want high quality tequila, you have to buy it in Mexico. They export their rotgut. You can find cheap tequilas that are higher quality than the high end stuff like Patron.

Groceries are actually cheaper on our side of the border. The constant fluctuations in the peso valuation sees to that. Visit any Walmart Super center in a border town. More than half the tags are Mexican.
