FH12 460,
Problem one...
Lacking torque, gets blown away by other trucks on hills, even other 460 Volvo's of older years all running light loads. NO FAULT CODES.
Done boost sensor, its been at 5 different truck shops... None can find the problem.
Done fuel filters, top tune V-CADS at all shops, its been serviced.
Trucks pull away from it on the flat or on hills like its standing still, trip times are rubbish, loose 15 min over 60km against another truck, he is 480 but running few tonne heavier....
Problem Two....
Jake brakes intermittent low in power, or non existent, Bump in road on a hill, Jake's gone for 10 seconds, traction warning does not come up, does not do it all the time.... Other times going down hills you can hear the EPG control valve releasing and you can feel the Jakes go soft.. then its back, and gone and back and gone.....
Its had the EPG checked, its had new jake vale in the rocker cover and a new EPG control valve. Everything has improved the efectiveness of the Jakes, Hold good on same hill one trip, runs away the next trip...
In position 1 or 2, when they work you really hear and feel it...Then the next time.... slight noise and that's about it.
Problem three..
Air suspension plays up when it rains or if the truck goes thru the truck wash, fault codes show problems with two wires, loom has been opened up at the normal points they have issues, like under cab to chassis point, cant find any issues..
Waiting for the next rain to see if that has fixed its self...
What the hell to do..... apart from BURNING IT....
Seriously loosing runs, time and lots of money here....
Doing my head in

You need to find out where the shorted wire is at. Sounds like maybe the insulation is worn off the wires somewhere, and maybe the bare wire is rubbing against metal. Especially when washing the truck kicks up fault codes.
Maybe you can try taking a garden hose when you're home, and while someone watches for the fault light, you can spray specific areas for a minute or so to see if it starts to act up. I would concentrate on where the wiring runs through tight places.
You can also try unplugging wires, spraying the plug with contact cleaner and plugging them in again. That actually works more than you may think.
I hope this helps. Good luck with your search. -
Truck spent last 3 days in the shop, Its now had the computer/cab to engine loom replaced.. Leaking wires they say, not shorted or open circuit.
Should fix the jake and power issue they say... I really hope so...
I had a rental Foden with a Cat C12 430, it ran rings around the volvo.... old heap but i was sad to give it back and take my volvo back....
Not had rain, so dont know if the last shop solved the suspension issues.. Really sick of 36 hour days... work on the truck all day to drive all night and most of the next day, few hours sleep and back onto the next truck shop....
