Spending the night here at my last pick in Two Rivers. Only 2000 pounds and it isn't ready yet and I was hoping to get a little father down the road before this snow moves in. Oh well, #### happens. They said to check back in at 0500 when they get in to see if it's ready. I think I'll go in at 0600 and give them an hour to get settled. I'm already getting detention out of this so it's no big deal. It was nice to have a relatively relaxing day since I know tomorrow probably won't be with the weather. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later so I can roll.
Be safe all.

good luck getting back west
Weeble Kneeble Thanks this. -
That's what I've been hearing, but at least I have weight this time. When I came east I only had about 5k on the back. At this point, I'm at the mercy of the shipper. If they take too long, I might take 90 and drop down to 80 after it moves through. It's supposed to stay south of 90 for the heavier snow

Sure is funny to hear about all the weather down South. I am sitting in Fairbanks, AK and it is nice and sunny. It was 0 this morning and the forecasting down to -22 tonight.
The pranksters at work got me good when I came in to the yard Thursday morning after dropping my load of Avocados. Mission was awesome with the offload. I had a 7:00 appointment and walked out papers in hand at 7:14. oh, back to the work thing. I was pulled into the office and told to clear out my truck. I was a bit in a shock and was racking my brain as what I could have done to warrant that. After they had their fun with me I was offered the last of our 5 brand new 389s. Now, I was lost for words again. I did not see that coming, nor would I have expected to get one of those trucks.KF7WTV, Weeble Kneeble, The Challenger and 2 others Thank this. -
That's awesome to here about the new ride. I would like to get one of the new 680's so I can stand in the morning and have something to break the wind from the brick that I now pull behind me.
Weather down here is pretty nasty. Backed into a spot here in the Loves in Iowa that I wouldn't have if it had been dry pavement with this spread, but the snow packed lot made it easier. Winter storm warning until morning, it isn't even the snow, it's the blowingssnow that's screwing everything up. It's a real mess south of here in Kansas and Missouri. It's 9 right now and it's supposed to get to negative double digits tomorrow.
Got the rest of my load on this morning, filled top to bottom, front to back. ABS light came on during the drive from shipper, stopped at the TA in Madison and there was a little wait. Wasn't in a hurry since I found out that I can get unloaded in K-Falls on Saturday. So I scaled while I waited and filled my tanks, came out to 80,100 pounds. Glad I can bag 'em all the way west if possible. After three hours they get me in, and wouldn't you know it, ABS light goes out. I hate these things, you can't fix them unless they're acting up, and they can be so hit or miss. I had two lights and their wires replaced since they finally stayed out when I had the opportunity to get them fixed, so all was not lost.
Should be able to get my reset in this weekend, that way I can run hard until next Friday. Be safe all.vikingswen Thanks this. -
Made it to Laramie last night where it was -15 with a wind chill down around -40. Roads were fine except for Omaha, which was a skating rink. Looked like the last lap of the Daytona 500 with the way cars were flying around. Had a Beemer spin out in the middle lane, go right and then back across all lanes of traffic and went rear first into the Jersey wall. That was about 50 yards in front of me, good times.
Tonight I'm starting my reset in Twin Falls, ID with a glimmer of hope that I can make it to K-Falls by 1600 on Saturday, I just not very optimistic it will happen. Not with this snowstorm or my union mandated 30 minute break and my two union mandated 1-5 AM time periods that I need to feel refreshed and more alert than ever. Total, I'll end up with about a 40 hour reset. Taking this reset is the only possible way I can maybe make it on Saturday. If I don't, well, I'll be unloading first thing Monday morning I guess and I won't get another reset in because that would allow me to work much to hard.
All in all, ran 3750 miles with 15 minutes to spare on my clock. I think I'll sleep in tomorrow and see how the weather is looking in Orygun. Be safe all.JohnBoy Thanks this. -
hey viking hows the new ride any pics yet

Didn't make it to K-Falls by 1600, had to chain up twice going across Oregon so I'll be here in K-Falls taking what would be a reset, but the fine folks in Washington suggest otherwise. No biggie, wouldn't be able to pick up today or tomorrow anyway, so I'll be delivering at 0600 Monday morning. After that, I'll be picking up in K-Falls going to Salt Lake City, after I get to the yard to have some work done on the trailer first. Nice check this week, 4460 miles plus 3 extra stops. I'm a happy camper, itching to get home though. It'll have been a month when I get home and then I'll finally see how the Western 11 will treat me.

It did great on the first trip which was a fast one since I only had two drops in Fairbanks. I left Friday night and was home last night and just barely beat the snow coming through Seattle. I waited on a backhaul on Wednesday which eventually fell through, but I got my 36 hr reset in and bounced back empty. If all goes well I should be leaving Monday night for the next trip to Alaska.Weeble Kneeble Thanks this. -
I didn't realize how much space I didn't have with my 62" sleeper on my quad until I moved into the 72". Even though I still can't stand up in it, that extra space makes a world of difference for me. Glad your new ride is treating you right so far.
vikingswen Thanks this.
