Just started this and has done it maybe 3 times. And it started after I changed one of the fittings on a valve on the tranny itself. The fitting had a a small red airline running to it and I think if controls the splitter on the high range side. Anyway the 90° elbow broke and the place I went to did not have the 90 so I used to the straight fitting they sold me. Now in the upper range say in 13th gear and while coasting getting off interstate it trys to down shift to 12th and I pull the stick out of gear and back in to 13th and all is fine. Only does it while in a coast down ramp never with a load or a coast on the open highway. The air fitting may or may not be related. Looking for suggestions on what to look for.
eaton 13 speed problem.

Since it started after you worked on the air line, that would be the first thing I'd check....loose or leaking a bit, or accidentally plugged off? Might not hurt to take it off, have a real close look at it, and test out it's air flow, and shifting. (Should be able to hear what's going on with engine, radio, etc. all off and listening while you flip the range and splitter).
cumminsISB Thanks this. -
Is the little line now kinked? Because of the angle the line has to go now with the new fitting. The splitter needs air pressure to go into "split". So if its not getting enough volume and or pressure, it will come out.
KC Guardrail and cumminsISB Thank this. -
that's what I am thinking...the line is kinking every now and then. Will check it closely this weekend. Thanks guys

Had similar issue, change it back to the 90 elbow. Also be sure not to run the fitting in too tight, it will restrict air flow just enough for the splitter to want to take it out of gear. That line is small enough as it is, don't wanna take any air flow away.

went to several places and nobody locally has that elbow. Anybody have any ideas where to get one or the part number?

Any one had a problem with a eaton fuller 13 speed not going into the high side till after it warms up for about 45 minutes . By the high side I mean 5th thru 8 the the range splitter . After warming up works perfectly ? Thank you

Where are you located? Is it freezing temps that are the culprit? It could be as simple as the oil is way too heavy. But its more likely the air cylinder is gummed up and sticking until the "crap" gets warm enough to move. Park it in high range overnight and see if it stays in high until it warms up the next day.
