Yeah, waiting THREE WEEKS for that first paycheck is a killer.

I was laughing reading about your getting dispatched with wrong directions, in the middle of nowhere with a hazmat load. My memories exactly.

Seriously, once a WEEK there was something like happening where things could have gone Very, Very wrong.

Say you have something important to go to, like a doctor's appointment (kids event etc.) that is scheduled WAY ahead of time and you can't miss. They call you out on another load and you turn it down. Count on two things: 1) Them not caring and 2) Not ever getting dispatched again.

Instead of firing you they just won't send you out and let you rot - getting only the $400 minimum/week. Can you live on that? Me neither. How will you know they've put you on the back burner? You won't.

I had a dispatcher call me and give me a heads up that even new hires were going out before me but if not for that, how would I know?

Stay away people. If you are young, can take a 100 hour work week, and the conditions just get a job with Baker Hughes/PTL/Schlumberger directly on a frac site. They make $90-$120K and there's none of the nonsense you read about here.

They (Eagle One) always seem to be hiring and it's not due to growth. NOT a good sign. Lots of turnover.

They keep hiring because they can't keep drivers. They can't keep drivers because they treat them like animals or slaves. I don;t care how good the money is you can't treat people like that.

Now the rest of the story from a 2 yr veteran of Eagle 1. Some of what has been said is true. i get paid two weeks in arrear but I was told that when I started. I get called out sometimes as soon as my 10 hours are up, but never run illegal. yes I have made the minimum but was glad to get it as it was slow and buddies at other companies got 0. I have had my dissagreements but I have had a lot of good times also. Safety is number one. I have the final say as to if the truck moves or not, heck they are paying me 17 per hour if it is not ready to move. I am getting a 3000 dollar bonus for being with them 2years (no other comapny does that, when I worked for them. Quit belly aching grow up and work and if you stay you will make money. Paper work is not hard it is called bill of laden and log books. Family time I have plenty as there is vacation time off and days we dont run, the wife tried to kick me out last week because I was home two days due to weather. Did you talk to the manager at the main office in Arkansas about your problems or just quit with no notice how do they know you had a problem if you dont let them know. I have let them know on several issues and they allways take care of it if tehy know I am not whinning and truly need the help

You just joined today. You made one post here and started another thread about your dearly beloved EagleOne. You shouldn't insult folks intelligence like that. You came on here and went straight to the very few mentions of EagleOne. You are being very obvious.

Doesn't really sound like a driver does it?!?! Looks like they're worried that word has gotten out about EagleOne!

That $3,000 bonus used to be for one year - they've changed it - but with the amount of turnover they have it might as well be $100,000. It's irrelevant.

My first post. I worked for E1 for 6 months. Made pretty good money. You shut your mouth - you work. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. I drove a van even though I have a CDL, more money driving the van, the guys I shuttled worked less than they expected, made less than they were told. You learn to ALWAYS answer your phone. 2 am, 2 pm, after being on duty 16 hours, didn't matter. You don't answer your phone they stop calling you as punishment. Some of the drivers were blackballed and didn't work for 10 or more days, that's where the $420 minimum comes into effect. Think $420 per week is good, especially for during at home doing nothing? Rent in Odessa Midland is like $800 month. Your friends are making $1,000+ and you are not being called because you didn't answer your phone. I always answered my phone. Sometimes I drove for 18-20 hours straight. I was never shy about having another driver relieve me, they wanted to live. You want to make money? The oilfields are different but you will make money if you learn to shut up. All the companies STRESS safety, I haven't found one company that really meant it. Eagle One is no better or worse than any other place but the real money is with a Frac crew. At Eagle One you are probably looking at a top of $60k, at a good Frac company up to twice that with a CDL-A and experience.

Oh yeah, if you are one of the luckier drivers who gets called a lot, forget about anything other than driving [or being driven], eating bad road food, waiting [lots of waiting] and sleeping 6 hours in your own bed if you're lucky. If you have an umbilical cord to your personal life this ain't the job for you, you just married Eagle One. Personally I liked the job but my personal life got in the way and my temper got the better of me (lack of sleep? ) and I quit when I probably should have gone home to sleep and shut my mouth (yeah, I fired myself). It's not for everyone and Bsker Hughes is probably the top place if you have the stamina.

BTW, I have seen E1 leave an unsafe vehicle instead of moving it. E1 is not for young guys under 50 who still have the stamina to make money, I'm over 50 and this was a good match for me, but I will say that I still keep in touch with some of the guys and not one of the original crew that I worked with is still there. This job is all about transportation of trucks owned by a frac company, these are WORKING trucks not OTR trucks. You drive in a convoy to God knows where and then the Shuttle Van drives you back to E1 to your personal vehicle. 1 run can be as little as a few hours to a few days. You get paid Shuttle time, pre-trip time, driving time, and again Shuttle time. If you stay in a motel E1 pays for the motel but you aren't getting paid once you are out of the truck. It's really not a terrible place but it is hard insofar add you are always on call and can't make commitments unless it's your day off. I tried to get my job back but they said no because I quit on then, can't blame them for that. If they said yes I would be there again.

    Since I started this thread...I think I can add input;

The absolute UNDENIABLE TRUTH IS: They have an excellent salesperson in David "what's his name".

They MUST keep hiring, because all of the moves they do are on a "on-call" basis. They have NO contract with anyone. The days of training is merely to satisfy DOT & customer requirements.

You put your knee pads on...be a whiner...you'll ge some work. And...those of you who are reading this KNOW what I'm saying...because I probably worked with you,

    Greg Stark

I lasted 3 months with total earnings of $ 3,668.00 GROSS. And fellers...that IS gross.

Do what you want...but they suck.
