That is not a better answer

Lockers don't do anything until the wheels start to spin.

So you're spinning a tri-drive up these 16% hills @ 72,300 ? Geez that's hard on the riggin. What happens when it snows ?

All I'm pointing out is that it's near impossible for a driver to tell if the lockers have been bypassed or not. You would need to see how many wheels were spinning in a highrange situation. Short of freezing rain or sleet I rarely spin in high range.

You guys hauling ore must have some big power to be hauling 72,300 kgs up 16% grades in high range.

Us oilfield guys would need a tow cat, a tow tractor wouldn't cut it.

We're not in high range on the pulls but when all 3 lockers are in, you cannot steer at all. That's how I know they work. In snow we chain up 2 axles. The new tractors have DD16's with 600 hp @ 2050 for torque.

    And it's 95 Nate ;)

    nate980 Thanks this.

I want to believe they are 4:11's. At 100+ k/mh they howl pretty good.

Sure they aren't 4:30's? Never heard of 4:33. I hate my 4:30 gears in Alberta, there suited for bc's 100km/h speed limits,

For what you're doing I would have 4.10 or 3.90.

I totally agree. But it's what you get when you don't have time to order a truck and just take what camex has lol
