It will only show truck speeds if the road has a truck speed limit. You can check the options. There is a option to display only car speed limits, only truck limits (limited) or show car if no truck speed.

That is under Truck Tools/Warnings/Speed Limit Display.
Thanks,
Markmattbnr and double yellow Thank this. -
The compare routes function, although handy, can be pretty flaky as well as the normal routing.I have had the second route come up showing hundreds of miles longer than the first when in fact there was a route available that was only minimal miles longer and not much longer time wise and perfectly legal.
I still believe that there are problems with the way these units calculate routes and should be remedied before adding more bells and whistles.
I have played with some other units and still like the layout and functionality of the Rand product better but the routing problems NEED to be corrected.mattbnr and double yellow Thank this. -
I completely agree an have suggested the exact same thing many many times in many different ways. All the bells and whistles don't amount to a hill of beans if the basic routing function if the unit is subpar. I don't think anyone is gonna buy a GPS unit with "boy keeping track of my fuel mileage or repair schedule is top on my list." No it's "this thing better get me from A to B in the best route possible with no problems such a low bridges, truck restricted routes etc." then once that's figure out then the "oh wow I can do all this extra stuff with this because I know it's gonna route me correctly so now I can explore the unit and not have to second guess it at every turn of my trip."

i like my computer for bells and whistles

Is a TND 510 the same as a TND 500?
-
Soooooo...
Question folks. Has anyone figured out how to set the GPS up to mostly stay on major Interstates and take US roads only. I keep getting stupid short routes that takes me off the main Interstate to take a side road when I could stay on the interstate for a few miles then get off. This has happened a few times. I disregard this, but, kinda silly to see this.. -
do you have route preferences set to prefer freeways?
-
Could also try avoid small roads.
-
My only gripe with that setting is it doesn't see a lot of 4 lanes as freeways so will route you 100 miles to the nearest interstate.
