Let's say I went to Roehl's academy, paid cash up front for tuition. What is my comm to them after? Do they "charge" you time for the behind the wheel training like Millis?
what's the committment owed to Roehl if you go through their school?

Unless it had changed, there is no charge for behind the wheel training, and if you stay for 120k miles the school is free. If you go to school on credit, they pro rate your bill of you leave the company before the commitment is complete so your better off going on credit because it makes no difference in your pay.
-
interesting, that might be the way to go. no real benefit to paying cash upfront I guess.
-
if you pay cash upfront, you can go drive anywhere.
If you don't pay upfront, you owe them 120k miles. After 60k miles, you are responsible for half of the $2800 if you leave, and then more money($200 i believe) off for every 10k miles after that.
I'm going to the school starting March 10th. I'm going to drive the 120k miles for them which based on the average miles posted by other drivers, that's between 45 and 55 weeks of driving, and I figure anyone can do anything for a year, especially if it's enough to pay the bills. -
You won't owe them a cent.
Close but not quite correct (unless they recently changed things). After 60k paid solo miles, they forgive 1/3 of the loan ($925), then for each 10k paid solo miles after that, another 1/9 of the loan ($312.50) until 120k miles when the entire loan is forgiven. -
they were my second choice but got accepted by millis and went there. year will be up may 1st. not to bad so far.

Millis is also on my list. Kind of like the options of Flat or van with Roehl
also thinking Schneider for tank.
how's the money been at Millis for the first year? MIles? Equip?
I knew guys that drove for them many years ago and everyone liked it there. -
If you stay at Roehl they have a few dedicated Wisconsin accounts. Maybe you could get onto one after a year with them? You could call them and ask about them
