Early on in my time with FFE I picked up a good number of electronics, and even a few appliances, that were fairly high wattage's. FFE's policy regarding inverters were "It had better ###### well be professionally installed or it's the brakes for you, kids."

Well, I personally never bought that particular line of bull manure, expecting a driver to live in a truck, in the modern world, with all the electronics and appliance amenities available to us; is ridiculous.

Picked up one of these at a wally-world in Beardstown, IL.
Also grabbed a line crimper with the necessary attachments and about 50ft of either 10/8 gauge insulated copper, grabbed a few rubber grommets plus zip ties.

Bolted the inverter to the far side of the divider under my bunk, crimped the eye holes on the wire and installed them on the inverter then ran them through a small hole under the bunk about 4 feet from the battery box. Place the rubber grommets in the hole I ran the wire through and re-threaded them; finished the eye hole crimps on the end and installed them on the batter.

Put some black conduit around the wires and zip tied them to the frame. Left a few feet of leeway off the frame to the entrance to the cab so the wires wouldn't rip apart.

Cost me all of $160, and took 20 mins tops to install. Voila- I had 1,500 watts of AC in the truck. (No one ever found out, either.)

amazon is your best bet. The power drive, whistler both meet millis specs, you just pick the wattage.

    bryanrutledge Thanks this.
