I wasn't following any closer than all of the other truckers that were on the road... Heck!!! Im pretty sure everyone of them that I seen was following a lot closer and like I said we were only going 20-25 mph tops and traffic was backed up for miles. It was crazy!!!

So the old everyone else was doing it line. My mom made me stop saying that when I was about 8 years old.
Find a different career. This isn't for you.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
20 to 25 can be too fast, depending on conditions and road. You travel the speed your most comfortable not what others are doing.Bottom line is according to England its a preventable so be done with it and start looking for another job.If its as minor as you say, then other companies will look at that and give you a chance..
gpsman, blairandgretchen and otherhalftw Thank this. -
This is meant for me. I have a passion for this career. Maybe I just chose the wrong company to start with. I'm 23 years old. Ive got plenty of time to still be a truck driver. Just hopefully I'll get back out there soon. Its funny how at that time I couldn't stop but after the accident I drove another 2+ weeks on bad road conditions and couldn't slide even when I tried to.

I'll probably dispute it. They told me one thing then done another. Nobody over there knows what's going on. Its a shame. I waited 3 weeks to get into my own truck too and didnt get paid a dime for that either.

And I was going below the recommended speed limit but I just didn't wanna go too slow cause then people will b cutting me off and crap
-
That part of your statement makes you unhireable in my opinion. Unfortunately my opinion doesnt count. Try Western Expressblairandgretchen and biggare1980 Thank this.

The point is it was your fault and you need to learn to deal with it in a professional manner.People have accidents all the time in this carreer and many times that does not stop them from finding another company. You was going a slight bit too fast and not looking far ahead, otherwise you would have stop long before hitting that other driver.
blairandgretchen, Tonythetruckerdude and gpsman Thank this. -
Don't forget the other driver didn't stop either. He probably didn't even feel it. He's at fault too for leaving the scene of an accident

Forget the other driver. Its your fault deal with it.
Tonythetruckerdude, MJ1657, gpsman and 5 others Thank this.
