While applying for jobs , my recruiters informed me that they need to review my DAC before going to deep into the hiring process. What is a DAC and what agency puts this info together.

It's like a credit report. Except it's mainly used by big companies where they can post whatever they want regardless of proof. They use several PRIVATE companies for this reporting. It has nothing to do with DOT, DMV, FMCSA or any government agency. Think of it as a "ripoff report" for OTR corporations.

For example: I have two dot recordable accidents according to Conway Truckload. This means I have two accidents where cars had to be towed or there were fatalities.

Except the closest I've ever come to an accident was having my neighbor scratch the fender of my old car two weeks ago. My MVR is clean, my "CSA scorecard" shows 0, I got printouts of everything so if I ever need to go job searching I will hand out all of this and ask them if they believe a private company or the Department of Transportation.

The DAC is nothing but slander. And you should sue if you find yourself in a situation like this, I just couldn't be bothered with it, they can kiss my you know what.

You are allowed one free report each year. Just like the credit reporting agencies. If there is info on your report you feel is incorrect or not attributable to you, there is a process to have it removed.
If you are a new driver or have worked for a company that does not subscribe to HireRight, your report may be blank.
