So, you're going to jump in and spend $72,500 for a business you don't know anything about?

Insurance at a grand!?!? Holy hell- I don't even pay that much with my tractor trailer! I was only paying $440 with my dually. You do have your CDL right?

How much was your cargo insurance with the tractor?

Right now with Progressive, 500 mile radius, and one year (my first in business) with ZERO claims, I pay $940 or so a month. It went up from $880 a month last year, don't know why.

Terry was at 13k per year, coop was 12k.. not everyone has a spotless record.

You don't cross state lines either do you? That makes a big difference

Jay, Where in Long island are you from, what town? I am actually looking at a gmc or chevy dually diesel and a 4 car kaufman trailer. I am in suffolk, haupauge area and wanted to see if I can go on a run with you to see how this business works before I put all my hard earned golf caddie money into buying a rig.

I think if Jay ever logs back in he will see one of your many posts looking for him..

BTW it's called spamming when you male the same post in multiple threads.

No, I don't cross state lines yet, but I'm looking at expanding soon! I don't know if Progressive will cover further travel, and if not I'll have to find a new company....

So you think riding around for a day qualifies you to go into business? Do you have a CDL? Have you ever pulled a 5th wheel trailer of any length? You are on Long Is.? This should be interesting. I want to see you get your truck into Dealer Storage in College Point.

that is a tough one, so is the MB, VW storage in college point. I've done it with my 53' Sun Country behind a dually but it wasn't easy. I'm from Long Island originally but am now in Brooklyn. I would never start so far in debt not knowing if it's the right job for me. There are lots of used 3500s around as well as used trailers. If you like the work you can upgrade and sell your old equipment for not much loss.
