talked to my old man the other day, told him about the rumors, at first he didnt believe it, but he said he is hearing alot of talk about it on cb now from other drivers, not just tmc drivers. he personally never has gotten the supposed message others claim they got from tmc on qualquam, and those he knows on his dedicated route also have not gotten this message, but they say they to are hearing the rumors on the road. only thing they are really noticing is over past few weeks, they havent been routed to colombia like used to, they are either routed back to knoxville or into lake city florida, they all thought this a little odd, cuz they was getten loads out of SC, and all of a sudden they stopped, leaving them sitten all day in FL, or routed back. but theyget no answeres of course on this subject. so no wonder if there in fact is something to the rumors. and also, this dedicated route seems to be shrinking up, alot of the pickups/dropoffs that was on route a month ago are gone...and now seem to have trouble with worken out loads, which seems odd. we dont believe tmc would in fact need to file fr BK protection, even with rising fuel cost, they skim enough off top and short change the drivers enough to make it, and seems like they are buyen up enough contracts latley, but then again, have lost some to. so dont know...only time will tell, i guess those due for orentation in SC, if they get sent packen....then rumors will prove true, if not, then guess rumors are just that...rumors...i agree, most companies wont tell employees, cuz then everyone would bail and leave them profitless fast, its better to keep quiet, earn some more dollars, then shaft the employees, i hope tmc isnt going to do this, but wouldnt be first time a company did. chin up folks, and take it one day at a time!!

On a COMPLETELY different topic, what is the biggest tv that will fit into a TMC truck? Is there a cut out for a tv to go in there? CRT or an LCD? Are they any regular (110v) outlets in the sleeper or are they all 12v? What kind of fridge fits in a TMC truck? Does TMC allow ANY holes drilled or modification of their trucks? Alot of questions, but im just trying to get my ducks in a row before I decide on a compnay to go with. I'm also considering Maverick and im asking them the same questions.

You can fit a TV of about 13" on the shelf. No special cut outs for them. No AC outlets just 12 volt. NO inverters allowed in TMC trucks. Most drivers use the plug in inverters for their AC needs but DO NOT be caught with one in the truck! Your fridge will be a 12 volt cooler resting on the floor. NO modifcations or holes will be allowed.

Snake Ize has it right. Though, I will say if you are in truck by yourself and not using your top bunk you can fit a much larger TV on the shelf.

A second (third or fourth) hand report of two drivers out of 3,000 being told to report somewhere is hardly proof of an imminent bankruptcy.

The circulation of rumors is an interesting subject. Do you realize that if Terry and I wanted to we could have the entire internet community believing that he and I just bought TMC and plan to sell it to Swift? I realize that the rumors are interesting but exactly what does it have to do with you? If A flatbed company shuts down that means more freight and higher rates for the rest of you, and if they will hire you then they obviously are not closing the doors yesterday. So what if a company closes and you need to look for another job, you are in a market that meets the freight needs of the country, and those don't change that drastically, so somebody will have to move that freight.

Here is my point: Don't throw up your hands and cower in fear of the economy. Live your life and be ready to take advantage of opportunities that come your way. If you believe that you will lose then you have already lost, but if you believe you have nothing to lose then roll the dice and get in the game.

Ok, i've had enough. I was in Des Moines over easter. I was up in the office talking to Travis, Justin (my FM) Abraham, and a few others that i know from up there.

They are cutting back on the amount of trucks that they have. Tim has left TMC and is now working with his own Logistics company, Uncle Harold (as we call him) is now back at the reigns.

Needless to say, many, MANY of us drivers are welcoming this new change. Hopefully Harold gets us back on the right track and away from the silly money wasting tendencies that Tim had us in.

We are not going bankrupt. That Rumor started from drivers over the winter months when we kept getting stuck in the main terminal due to their failure to salt or plow the lot. It was a joke at first, but apparently it got out of hand.

And, even if we were going bankrupt, big deal? We have our CDL's and a few years worth of experience at minimum... Do you know how many companies would love to hire ex TMC drivers? Come on. Let's talk about more important things.

Like when i'm getting a new truck? =-)

I was just doing some checking myself on this tmc bankruptcy thing....don't see anything that would verify this....i did stumble across a new site tmc has up and running for their orientation program, and after looking at all the pics of the classroom pc's, simulators, trucks, etc it sure doesn't look like they're hurting any!! pretty cool stuff on there......i hope they don't go anywhere because them black trucks iz bad! :biggrin_25525:
