You are correct. When we took our last SDI survey, the biggest complaint drivers had was the fact they had to pay for their pallet jack. (That should be some what of a testament as to how it is to work here, if that's the biggest gripe). So anyway, the company went back 10 years and refunded every single employee who ever purchased a pallet jack.
If you go to Dallas, Don Hendrix will be your instructor. He is a great man and his class is fun. You will learn a lot!
This is also true. However, there can be a bit of discrepancy when multiple routes have the same start time.
Welcome aboard. SEFL is a wonderful company to work for, but not perfect. I love working here, and do not foresee ever leaving. Lord willing, this is where I will retire from.Last edited: Feb 4, 2014
EASTWOOD, gargantunut and Lefty1 Thank this. -
Hey fellas, went to my first interview yesterday if felt like it went good but who really knows. How long before you know if they're interested? Is there always a second interview, if so how is it different from the first?
-
I knew immediately. They told me we'll call you when the background check clears. -
Depends on a few different things. When I was hired, I went through 3 interviews. The reason is that at the time of my first interview, they weren't quite ready to hire someone. My second interview, I interviewed with the P&D dispatcher who asked me various questions. Third interview was the the terminal manager after I passed the road tests and written tests, and I was offered a job at the end of the interview.

I have heard mixed stories. Does SEFL pay overtime pay?
-
No, they pay straight time only. But, SEFL pays enough per hour to make up for the lack of OT pay.
Just think, if you make 15/hr for 40 hours, that's 600, then 10 hours OT at 22.50 equals 225, total 825
SEFL pays 20+ per hour, so in 41 hours you have made the same money.gargantunut Thanks this. -
The county finally "found" my background check SEFL had asked for 2 weeks ago. Going in for drug screen and physical tomorrow morning.
-
Yeah their pay rate and from what I have heard about the company make it worth it. I will be getting my hazmat in the next day or 2. Should I wait to apply until the background check is done and I have the physical license in my hand? I know I'm clean and nothing will come back.

What did they say they are starting you at? I hear top out is $22.10. I could be wrong.
