Volvos ride super smooth. They can be quirky at times. Does Swift order them with the Volvo D13 or Cummins ISX? Most of ours are D13s with all the new trucks having the I shift. My company is 99% Volvo 780 sleepers with a pretty high end package. (The rest are a mix of Freightliner Columbias that were our fleet trucks prior to 2008, 3 Peterbilts and one old International Transtar on the local fleet.) They ordered the upgrade radio system has a built in bluetooth speakerphone and is XM capable. Love that XM lol.

I have never paid any attention unfortunately on how the trucks are ordered. But you are right its a smooth ride. The shifting is smooth and the clutch is like stepping on butter. Very easy pressing it; not at all like other trucks I've driven. Xm radio, which I bought and never hooked up yet, should be regulated by DOT for every truck to have!! Truck drivers NEED their xm radios!

All the used ones from Swift hitting the used market had ISX engines. Wondering if they are adding Volvo engines to the mix. Knight Volvos were equipped with ISX power plants too though they seem to be ordering more 670 sleepers with D13s. Quickest way to tell without opening the hood is that little badge between the cab door and hood that says D13 Volvo Power. Volvo likes to boast when you order your Volvo truck with a Volvo engine, lol.

I start solo today doing port and short hauls. I will be driving a PB CNG, with a day cab. I drove around the port area all day Saturday to get more familiar with it, even though I did a week of training. I might start my own drayage thread since I have not seen many. Oh and I will be working nights.

When I drove for them the 670 I had with the I-shift came with the Volvo engine and the 10 speed before that one had a cummins.

Some other truckers one coming in and the other leaving blocked him in so he couldn't run. He was making a u-turn and decided he wanted my driver side bumper and light more than I did. After he was stopped I got all his information, took pictures of both trucks and got everything handled pretty easily.

At a terminal getting my truck bumper and light casing fixed. This terminal got right on it as soon as I checked it in. Went back out OTR. First week back out.
