Silly HOS question

    NO, Im saying, you need to leave yourself more wiggle room and be more careful so it doesn't happen. Whether DOT bothers you for a few min or not, your still liable if you get in an accident, even if not at fault. With proper trip planning I have only had a DOT violation once. it was only becuase i was kicked off the property by a shippper that took 6 hours to load me. Yes, that sometimes happens, but planning well and insureing it happens as little as possible is important. If i cut it so close that missing an exit will put me in violation....I will be concentrating very hard and making sure I don't miss it.

    :biggrin_2556: This has been almost as fun as a "what kind of drug test does Big Truck Company XYZ do" kind of thread. You guys have truly thrown out some food for thought, for sure.     It's not just DMs who are willing to falsify/edit logs, as I know of a "safety manager" that does it on a regular basis... but DOT might eventually recognize the games being played at that company.
