am considering buying a large sleeper that has a back door. Do I need a headache rack, or can I run a flat bed without a rack? Looking to run oil field freight which is mostly chains and straps for securement of the load. Imagine I will have to have side boxes for chains, straps and binders, since there is not any room for boxes on the tractor. Thought about a headache rack on the trailer, but have no way to get onto the trailer unless there are some side ladders. If I can't figure away to make the headache rack issue work with all necessary equipment, than I will not purchase the large sleeper. So.....any thoughts drivers.....? Thanking you in advance....Hope I gave you enough info to understand my concerns....!

if youre going to load pipe, alot of the yards will not load you unless you have a HR.
My cousin runs one on the trailer and although its kind of a pain sometimes, he prefers that vs. putting one on his truck.

You're planning to take a big house off-road? That's some pretty rough terrain. You're going to drag your fuel tanks a lot.

Couldn't you custom make a box that has cabinets on each side of the door and one over the top?

That's exactly what I was going to say. I don't see why a nice custom on couldn't be made like that.
