Hi, I am picking up new tractor from a dealer today and driving it to orientation around 1000 miles. I have insurance for it. Do I need to put not for hire sign on it? It will have dealer plates on it, btw.
How legally can I get to orientation. I will also do a logbook.
Picking up new truck today - what should I take with me?

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll have yourself a brand new toy. Once you get settled and all that fun stuff, will you post a couple pics of it?

Probably wouldn't hurt to put a not for hire sticker on. Especially if it's already got all the company decals on it. I keep a set around for when I take the big truck home bobtail.

You might want to check on a day travel permit (each state you are crossing) just in case. But, the first scale house will be able to tell you better...for that case, the dealer should know the things you would need for the trip.

What company ? I would think the company that you are driving to for orientation would have all the info you need. Is this a tractor you purchased or did the company purchase it.
I am curious because your profile says you are not a trucker.
