Ever looked in the RVs we see everyday??
gearjammer42 and WorldofTransportation Thank this. -
When kids are in danger, I don't think we should be accepting of their parenting choices.
Yes, we didn't have belts and car seats when we were kids, but the data is in, and not buckling a kid up is plain and simple child endangerment.sevenmph Thanks this. -
11 years ago I was a sleep in an rv with my then 3 year old son.(who is now 14 and taller than me).. going down the road.. No restraints are built in these things... drunk pulls out in front of us.. My ole man was driving... We clipped him.. He spun down the side of the rv... tore propane tanks off.. everything.. I go airborne.. look and see my son going towards the front of this rv.. I grab him and brace myself against the wall of this thing.. broke my shoulder and my left ankle.. but...... it beat the alternative.. didn't cry to anyone about Holiday Rambler not putting restraints in these thing... I just healed and went on and was thankful I was able to catch my son.. We don't own an RV anymore.. got one with the insurance money and sold it as soon as we could..stabob Thanks this.

I hear you, but...I don't think we should look at no safety belts as a means to toughen up our children.
and I'm glad you made it out of the wreck. -
I think most passengers are unsecured in the truck.
And in most RV's.
Well, unless they are in the passenger seat with a belt on.
When I was in training I didn't have a restraint system in place when I was in the bunk, and when my daughter rode with me she didn't either.
She was often in the bunk on her computer.
And I doubt they would do much good in a crash.
Not to mention, they are such a hassle if you want to move around.
Who wants a web in the way all the time?
I've also seen a family of 4 or 5 in a single truck.
Mom, Dad and 2 or 3 kids.
How are they secured while driving?
Not!
Not to mention, busses.
There are no seat belts in most busses, even school busses. -
This is going to give me nightmares tonight.
Sounds like a horrible punishment for all concerned. -
Yes.
I can barely stand myself and 1 daughter in a single truck.
I could never imagine a family of 4 or 5 in this small space.
Yet, I see it all the time.
I guess they are better at space management than I am.bergy Thanks this. -
yea I always got a kick out of that. Like that was gonna do anything !
