TMC is strict on logs too, but really, would you rather the log department catch it and give you a slap on the wrist or would you rather DOT catch it and put you out of service and ticket you?

They push you to use "time management" and to be as effective as possible while remaining legal, but they dont push you to drive over or expect you to. They also respect you saying your to tired to drive. Sometimes your body's clock does not match the dot clock...and thats ok...just tell um.

How good are you at math? If you can handle basic algebra staying legal isnt hard. Elogs make it easier, but basic algebra will help you manage your time better.

I would look out for most any large outfit.stay away.far away.perhaps you are looking for a carrier that will accept students.I do not envy you just starting out in today's trucking climate and the choices available for your lack of experience.best of luck.

on the flip side,i pull loads,as needed, out of the industrial park just north of the school that you probably attend.man the DOT work that area.heavily.have they, the Ga PSC,ever dropped by to speak w/your class?it would be pretty cool if they did if for no other reason than to be neighborly.you will be dealing w/them eventually-

I you are single and want to make good money working hard, go with TMC. If you have a family you want to get home to go with Maverick. I'm not saying TMC didn't get me home, but it was fewer weekend than Maverick got my friend home.

If you have an professional attitude TMC will work for you.

Down side is Black truck, Black/Dark gray interior..... no APU and they frown on idle time. It can bring down your pay rate because of the fuel mileage point system.

Home time depends on where you live more than anything, or so it seemed when I was at TMC. Had a good 18 month run with them, would consider going back. I was home 48 of 52 weekends my first year. Only wished they had APUs when I would go south.

I have to say, I think almost every other company's securement training is inferior to TMC's, based on observations at shippers.
