Whats up guys.. so I have my start date I will be headed all the way to MO for a March 17th orientation date.. I was curious about a couple things though.. My recruiter has set me up to go flatbed division, which is what I want.. I was wondering during PSD training will I get a flatbed trainer? or will it be just whatever is available at that time?? Also I was looking for a little input on what to look for in a good flatbed trainer, I'm sure it is a lot like any other division however with a couple of the nightmare trainers I have read about in my time on these forums I just want to make sure I am doing everything I can to set myself up for a good career. Thanks in advance!

I am going flatbed as well. I start orientation the 11th. From what I have been told we get a reefer instructor and a flatbed trainer.
Dodgerfan82 Thanks this. -
Thats awesome man. I'm really looking forward to it.. Prime seems like a great company, especially if the people on this forum are an example of the company. Its odd that your start date is a Tuesday though, I though it started on Mondays now. What made you want to go flatbed?

I have been around truckers all my life. A lot of close family drove/drive trucks. This is what I wanted to do since I was five lol. So any time I was able (spring break etc.) I was on the road with them. I had two that were flat bedders, they were always my first choice. I think it is a more involved/interesting haul. It is always cool to see what you are hauling next. Although it was usually steel coils lol. Plus there is an added benefit of mandatory exercise. And yeah... I'm pretty well pumped too. Although my family ran mainly for small companies, prime is one of the best outfits I have seen.

You'll draw an instructor and trainer from the pool available when you're ready. The fact is that there are far many more drivers in reefer division than flatbed, so you may end up in reefer division for the entire time. Don't despair! If that happens they'll put you with a flatbedder for 30 days of securement training.
Apparently they have started PSD orientation on Mondays again. -
Thanks IP.
yeah, I'm kinda hoping that through a couple different methods of networking here I might be able find a good TNT trainer before I get there. My recruiter said its no problem at all if I want to choose my own they just have to route him through SpringMo... Skellr on here also informed me that they want you to test for your CDL with a box. I would assume that's because its easier to maneuver then a flatbed with spread axles.

to think he passed pre trip, and backing, only to fail on his first turn leaving the pad.
I know you get a certain number of retests with a failure. What about a failure with damaged equipment?
