I thank you.I am just in the ''entertaining'' the idea and getting as much knowledge as i can..I am still plugging along here in NY with Landstar..
I just think it is very wrong for L/S to ''mandate'' BCO's to the E-LOG over FALSE EVIDENCE..This is just WRONG and very unprofessional conduct on Landstar's part..As of yesterday we have close to 4,000 BCO's on them..So we now see the direction Landstar is going..
Then they turn around and charge you another 29.00 bucs to have it....WRONG WRONG WRONG....
I will never say L/S is the worst of the worst. They have been good to me and alot of drivers..But the writing is on the wall to where this is all heading..We are not being treated like the ''elites'' we once were..
We are on are way to being treated like a BABY...I will give you one example...
I have a friend with 5 months exp.He has the e-log and every babysitting tool in his truck. He can only go 67 MPH...Mind you,he only has 5 months..On his E-LOG he can drop his trailer and go off on ''Off duty driving'' for as long as he needs...
Now L/S..
They market that we are the ''cream of the crop''.We are the elites..L/S is so full of ####...BCO's are O/O and we pay for everything. We have been through an anal exam to be here..We were told that we are so lucky to be here and only 1 driver out of 100 gets hired on,so consider yourself lucky...BLAH BLAH BLAH....
On L/S e-log they only give you 1 hour to drop your trailer and go to wal mart on the ''off duty driving'' then come back to the truck stop like a baby boy and suck your thumb...To me this is a kick in the balls..
This is not how a PROFESSIONAL is to be treated...It is all B/S....Needless to say this is one example of where the so called ''elites'' are headed..Ranger Bob pointed out the other FACTS..Over 40% of out loads are being put on outside carriers...
Anyhow that is my rant for the day and i am keeping my options open and just doing alot of research..My rose colored glasses are off and i am looking at the road Landstar is taking. And it looks like they are shoving us off to be just like a SWIFT or WERNER driver....

Well, at least you didn't say CRE another bottom feeder like that.
-
one question then a statement
is there anyway around the off-duty driving of one hour on an omnitrac 200 and if not i will have to become an independent due to the fact that landstar will only allow mywife and i 1 hour off-duty driving even on weekends -
I don't think so.... That's my biggest gripe as well, I told the folks at the Log Dept that was the biggest crock of **** with the E-Logs and they have the ability to change it
-
they are making me go on eld because my logs did not agree with the skybits that i had to install on MY trailer for aa&e
they suck and i would love to go independent and convince as many other bco's as possible -
65% to haul landstar trailers... Lol i got more at an agent of usxpress -
Maybe their 65% was better money than your cut from USX? You'll never know. What the truck makes is what counts. There are guys getting 65% that keep a lot more money than one's making 100%. Cheap freight is cheap even if you get it all. Apples and oranges comparing company A paying 65% with company B paying 75%. Whoever has the best freight wins and 65 or 75 is irrelevant.
SL3406, milskired, exhausted379 and 3 others Thank this. -
That is true. But i averaged 1.70 loaded and empty miles when i was with them. I just hated that they didnt really let you pick but they always kept me moving.

own authority is only way to go.you answer to no one, most freedom you can have,i do well at it.

There's 3 agents I deal with who does drop and hooks whose freight pays over $2.50 a mile and that's after Landstar's cut....
