Oh, and he was told to find his way home after he texted Klint telling threatening that his brother was going to go burn down our office. We have screen shots also if John R. wants to go there. We were threatened multiple times about his "bad brother" coming and doing harm to our business and our people. The very things that feeds my kids. So, yeah. He had it coming to find his own way home after that.

I think most of us knew there were two sides to this story.

As I stated. Our office marked the check wrong and stamped it with a signature instead of the direct deposit information. He knew he was already paid, which is why he did not cash it immediately, (as he did before he had direct deposit). This was actually the first time he was paid direct deposit. Our office messed up and he took advantage of it. We were paying him $400 a week still to help him out, even though he was in debt to us for repairs. So, we were helping him out and he double took advantage of us.

I checked you FMCSA registration it shows at last 2 name changes in 2007 and 2008 , it also shows a 10% out of service for drivers and a 28% out of service for equipment on your safety record. It also shows you allowed an unlicensed driver in a commercial vehicle, a driver with an expired license and another with an expired physical. All of this is public record you need to make sure your ducks are in a row before spouting off. Pay the drivers the money you owe them and straighten up your act. Companies like you give truckers a bad name!

My question is why would a company pay thousands of dollars in repairs to an owner/operator?

Just an idea I have here I am leased to a small very well run outfit in Iowa about 50 trucks about 25 or 30 owner operators. Before you can lease on you have to give him $750.00 up front. You go 3 weeks until you get paid. He does not give advances, He does not charge you trailer rent persay, He pays 68% of the gross,He does not tell you what a load pays, you find that out when you get your settlement. We are on forced dispatch company trucks come first. He does not pay tolls,I would be afraid to ask him for money if I was broke down( He might help but I would be afraid to ask) Some of the owner operators have been with him 30 years why is that? I will answer my own question,it is because WE CAN NOT DO BETTER ANYWHERE ELSE THATS WHY. He even hired a kid at 21 with his own tractor when nobody else would, Why? Because he saw that young boy had responsibility, and common sense No hat on backwards no tattoos no nose ring no earrings and the boy could say three words without swearing 26 times. If more outfits would be run like this we would not have so many stupid people pretending to be owner operators but having to have their hand held all the time.I do not know of one of his contractors going broke .The company also has an excellent safety rating and commands some pretty fair rates because of it. Do they push You had better believe it,Do we get yelled at Yes sir we do, Do we run hard ? What do you think?Does anyone ever quit,Yes but not often. So with that being said the problem here lies both on the company and the owner operator some times the best way to help is to do nothing at all. That guy would most likely have problems no matter who he worked for.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

Excellent point, I just have a problem with companies trying to place all the blame on a driver and spout off with untrue comments. Having been in or around trucking all my life I see both sides. I come from a family of drivers, I guess that's why I ended up in trucking myself, not as a driver though. I leave that up to my husband.
