$25k !!? Pft!
I'd sue them ######## for 10 million if the driver would had been a family member!
2 companies and a moron individual behind a fire weapon took this man's life unlawfully..mrbmg Thanks this. -
According to the original article, He was asked to leave and did, but only to return inside the store charging the security guard. Being a CHP carrier, in my eyes, he was returning for trouble. Which is usually the case when someone returns to a scene. For all we know, Sojic could have been returning with a weapon. Sojic could have prevented this whole situation and moved on down the road. He choose his destiny.

Somebody went looking for trouble and got what they deserved.

By only asking for 25k, it would seem they trying to get some quick "go away" money.Last edited: Feb 25, 2014

Totally agree.
The security guard was under no obligation to let the guy beat on him for a while, so he could determine the intentions of the charging thug. The security guard probably saved lives. This guy was nuts and he could have just as easy run a school bus off the road instead. Thankfully he charged an armed guard.
Physical altercations should stop when a person leaves grade school. If somebody tries to assault me, I'm not going to risk what could happen if I'd lose the fight. I am going to end the situation as quickly, and with as much force as possible. My concern for my assailant ended when they assaulted me. As long as I am clearly acting in self defense, I won't be holding back and risk becoming a statistic.NavigatorWife, truckon, snatale42 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ok, now they should POST SIGNS..
"IF ASKED TO LEAVE AND YOU COME BACK YOU WILL BE SHOT!" -
Lucar - I respect your desire for non violence, but I have a question for you.
If you were the guard, what would you have allowed this guy to do to you before you used lethal force?
Would you let him tackle you? How about banging your head into the tile floor? One punch? Ten punches? What is your threshold?
Keep in mind, each blow by the thug could end your ability to defend yourself and possibly your life.
Also keep in mind, the driver was asked, and returned to charge an armed guard. So mentally there are issues here.Joetro and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
We can go at it and this will be long, so I'll just give this a twist with my best intentions as not to disagree nor go against anyone here;
Security guard should had been trained in the following:
Situation analysis
Hand to hand self defense
Fire arm training
The security guard works in a high money volume environment (truck stop handles well over $100k cash daily)
The security guard KNEW he was not apt to carry a weapon before approval
The security guard could had carried pepper spray, taser gun, or a radio to call for help or police force.
When mr. "Troubled driver" left (before he returned to be killed -basically) measures should had taken place
Cops should had been called if the situation presented a danger to any one -so here the "person selected as a guard" had piss poor evaluation judgement, which as a result caused the dead of an un-armed civilian.
It's wrong in any way you look ar it, there were dozens of other ways this situation and person's death could had been avoided. -
The driver went back in intending to cause harm, plain and simple he got what he deserved, your way of thinking is why we have kids taking guns to school and trying to kill people, they need to learn that it doesn't work like that, you want a fight, we will give you one.Joetro Thanks this.
