As a company driver......well, I'm home on medical anyway, but the company driver is not in a position to refuse to haul a load. The load assignment comes in on the qualcomm and you go pick it up or.........else. Maybe you can Tcall it if your hours won't let you deliver or something, but the load gets through.
To hear drivers cuss eachother at a truck stop, any given stop, I kind of wonder about unity to pull off a strike, but I worry about such a strike spilling onto the company drivers who aren't in a position to participate. -
You have the greatest tool in the world hanging right in front of you as you drive down the road...Your mic...Sirius Radio announced this week that internet podcasting is the next generation of C>B> radio...it is truly citizens radio...If you check podcast sites like podbean for sites that mention trucking or truck stops...you might be surprised what you will find out there...there are a lot of John Q Citizen's out there just wondering what they can do about the whole mess......

All the drivers I have talked to have heard April 1...to send the FOOL's in Washington a message...Make sense to you...That is the date I have been passing on to my customers...

check out the non support of OOIDA. I took this from the tampabay buissness journal. OOIDA SPOKES PERSON . Norita Taylor, a spokeswoman. Threats of strikes among independent truckers are relatively common but usually twist in the wind and fail to materialize, Taylor said.

As a member of OOIDA, I dont think it would be able to back a strike and still have any credit in Washington. As far as Cheep loads, if everyone would stick together and not haul the cheep Broker loads then after a week or so they would HAVE TO start paying more to get the loads moved. I will not haul them, they are back hauls for me, I will and do dead head home before I will let some Clown give me a load that only pays
$1.00 per mile. Right now I am getting a 28% fsc. and buy slowing down to 63mph I am making money on it. But like I said above if I can not find a back haul that will pay $1.50 or more their is no profit in it so why load it?
It is better to just get my tail back home and load something that pays over $2.00 per mile plus the fsc. What we need to do is go on strike against the brokers not the customers that keep us in Business.

I will not have my trucks running on April 1 to show support of the protest. Worked it out so that they will be empty by Tuesday AM and they will not reload until Wednesday.
