Any schools 4 weeks or shorter and not over $400.00 to get CDL? I have bad credit!

No pets in company trucks. If you lease they are allowed with deposit.

Hey there. If you don't decide to go to a big company training program, I would look into a tech school because you can use financial aid, but you have to fill out the financial aid...www.fasfa.com. It's very easy and doesn't take too long. You could probably qualify for grants that can help you pay for school; and that might reduce your out of pocket cost from a few hundred to maybe less than $20 (depending on what you qualify for in grants). By the way, financial aid is based on need (they look at your income), they don't look at your credit. Hope this helps.
gpsman Thanks this. -
Thaaaanks!

What's bad credit got to do with the length of the course...?
I can go anywhere depending on cost, too.... but your state is undoubtedly sitting on oodles of cash they're dying to give to you for job training.
You're probably going to need better credit if you're buying your own truck. -
gpsman Bad credit has nothing to do w the length of the course just need a shorter course so i can
get back home to my pets and was saying i have bad credit cause i didn't qualify to get into the
Truck Institute in my area! There is a college that will help me but i only have $300.00 now and i need
another $100.00 to get started if i get it in time only opening is April 27th and i wanted to start like now
if i don't have the money soon it will be full and next opening to get in is August! Thank! -
ChinaTown MCT sounds great for me but i can't get them to call me back! Any suggestions? I left a message

apply for state sponsored grants or a grant to attend a driving school.many of those that enter as of late have done so on grants they were given.I do know that the state of ga. has a grant.it is called "the hope" grant/scholarship.
the post that mentioned tech schools was spot on as in ga.,they are the ones that do the driving academies. northwest ga technical school in lafayette,ga. is one that might could get you set up.certainly worth checking into.they have a website.
I didn't attend a driving school,it wasn't necessary way back when.I had a cousin that did and he went thru crst.he quit them and still had to pay for their school costs.I look at company sponsored training as the equivalent of being an indentured servant. go state schools if at all possible or private school that perhaps can advise you on funding.
I have 3 dogs that dictate my life a bit and if not for a gal i mess with and neighbors,i wouldn't be out here.
best of luck tracking down the money to follow through.stay persistent and focused if driving is that which you seek-Last edited: Feb 26, 2014

If your pets are that important and you don't have a place to board them --maybe this really isn't the right career for you ...just sayin..
and $100 --I could pick up aluminum cans for that in about 3 days.. or sell something if I wanted something that bad..
IMHO --learning to drive a 80,000# truck is not something you just willy nilly hurry thru... just sayin...gpsman Thanks this. -
I'm not sure i agree with the above.first and foremost,my dogs are not unlike my kids and i have someone come let them in and out and feed and water them.they are in my yard, about an acre fenced, and i've been in trucking for, well,a long time.
I didn't learn to drive a 80,000 truck before I drove one.I was actually just placed in one and cut loose.what habits, skills, attitudes, and experience i have were all aquired by trial and error.luckily there were not too many errors.lots of ducking going under overpasses on the interstates in a big ol'cabover but that is another story.
LisaFaith may have put lots of thought into this and just needs to come up w/the rest of the cash money and may turn out to drive the wheels off of the truck she winds up in.she sounds responsible for her animals at least which speaks volumes imo-
I wish her the best at this point in her search.she may run both our front doors one day to which i'd be appreciative.it gets old running my own-
